My career started at Olympic Studios
in 1967, where, as assistant to Keith Grant, Glynn Johns and Eddie Kramer,
I worked with artists such as Arthur Brown, The Move, Jimi Hendrix, The
Rolling Stones,
Steve Miller Band and The Small Faces.
1969 was spent in Toronto - first
helping to build and then to engineer in the first 16 track studio in
Canada Revolution Sound Studios. Returning in 1970 I joined the newly
opened Island Studios, Basing Street as a house engineer, working here
with Harry Nilsson, Jimmy Cliff, Led Zeppelin, Alex Harvey, Jeff Beck,
Robert Palmer and Bob Marley and the Wailers.
In 1976 I decided to continue my
career on a freelance basis. The remainder of the '70's was spent working
with artists such as Steve Winwood, Robert Palmer and Roxy Music, in the
'80's with China Crisis, King, Eat and Talk Talk, followed in the '90's
with Brian Kennedy, Throwing Muses, Dido, Faithless, The Walkabouts, and
more Talk Talk.
In more recent years - I have been in
the studio with Marti Pellow, The Spikedrivers, Beth Gibbons, Midnight
Choir, The Walkabouts, Dido and Robert Plant. |
